Mallorca Holistic's Regular Team
Nuria Franquesa - your acupuncturist
Nuria completed the studies in Chinese Medicine in Barcelona and obtained her Diploma of Acupuncture after passing the exams of the World Federation of Chinese Medicine Societies (WFCMS) in Beijing (China). Studied also Oriental Food Energetics. During the years, she has been continuously studying different acupuncture procedures and approaches.
She worked with her master Kye Dong Son who transmitted to her with total commitment his ancestral wisdom in the field of energetics.
She presently works in her clinic in Palma de Mallorca.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) explains that health is the result of a harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of yin and yang, of the life force / vital energy known as gi or chi. Qi is said to flow through meridians (pathways) in the human body. Through 350 acupuncture points in the body, these meridians and energy flows may be accessed. Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of the forces. If needles are inserted into these points with appropriate combinations, the energy flow can be brought back into proper balance.
Contrary to popular Western belief, acupuncture is not just a system for inserting very fine needles into specific body locations to alleviate pain. So, what is acupuncture, then? Acupuncture is a complete medical protocol focused on correcting imbalances of energy in the body. From its inception in China more than 2,500 years ago, acupuncture has been used traditionally to prevent, diagnose and treat disease, as well as to improve general health.
The benefits of Acupuncture have been backed by the World Health Organisation (WHO) since 1979. It has been proven that acupuncture is extremely efficient for treating many health condition, namely acute or chronic pain, and also to stay generally healthy and to prevent illnesses.
Tahona Santana - your bodywork practitioner
After 4 years of studies, Tahona obtained in Switzerland her International Diploma on a somatic coaching approach which teaches body awareness and reconnection to one-self through the body, in order to achieve well-being and health.
She has worked as an independent practitioner since 2010 in several locations and is continuously learning: she participated in numerous international courses, including the Recovery Course level 1 (recovering from injuries and chronic pain) and level 2 (recovering from back symptoms).
Tahona continues touching people’s lives at her clinic in Palma de Mallorca and during Yoga and Holistic Retreats.
During all Mallorca Holistic Retreats, you will have the special chance of receiving several unique bodywork sessions with highly experienced bodywork practitioners who will lead you through this individual process.
The bodywork sessions happen on a massage table and through touch techniques, breathing and movements, the practitioner will help you unlock the limitations that keep your condition (whether it is physical or behavioural) ongoing, so that you can break free from it and make a shift.
If you choose to work on a physical symptom, during the bodywork sessions you will learn to allow and encourage the natural healing process of the body and to work with pain, restrictions, tensions and fears connected to the symptom. The work is focused on recovering and reducing pain and discomfort. This will allow you not only to get well quicker but also to learn more about your body and how to manage better when this symptom or any other physical condition may arise again in your life.
If you choose to work on a repetitive behavior pattern that limits you in your live, your practitioner will help you during your individual sessions to identify this pattern in the body (as an automatic reaction that shows at all levels of your being) and to gain control over it so that you can stop reproducing it unconsciously. You learn to change the way you approach emotions and fear, which will help you with any challenging situation in your life after the retreat.

"As a result of various personal growth experiences, I immersed myself in research on nutrition and how it directly affects our balance, on which our health depends.
At the moment I am student of dietetics and nutrition with an organic approach and I am adding to my technical and creative knowledge other abilities acquired in diverse fields, that merge in the kitchen to obtain that balance through nutrition.
My cooking is simple and colorful. I use local, organic and seasonal foods, which results in energizing, natural, flexible and personalized meals."

"It is a pleasure for me to share my experience and knowledge in the art and practice of yoga, as it is to be able to learn a little more from my students every day. I would like to encourage everyone with this message to introduce themselves to the world of yoga.
I did my initial training in the Parmath Niketan of Rishikesh Ashram Centre in India during a course of two years. Karin O'Bannon (Professor Certified in the Senior Level of the Iyengar Method), was the person with whom I trained during a whole year in Rishikesh. I am extremely grateful to have had her as a teacher and to have enjoyed such a great opportunity to collaborate with her in supervising classes.
During my time training in India, I studied with Usha Devi and Bramacharya Rudra Dev, grand yoga masters, which enabled me to delve into many other aspects of the practice and learn other ways to teach. This wonderful experience, working shoulder to shoulder alongside such experienced teachers with such devotion and generosity (disciples and messengers of the great guru B.K.S Iyengar), enabled me to appreciate yoga holistically as an attitude and lifestyle."

"The practice of the various branches of yoga and my activity as a yoga teacher formed the basic ground of my work with the body and all it’s aspects.
The Grinberg Method made me conscious of the fact that humans are in a continuous learning process and gave me a perfectly structured way of approaching the body.
Hsin Tao and with its thousand-year-old exercises taught me in a subtle way to perfectly let go of unnecessary efforts.
Finally MLC allows me to decode further the multiple messages of the body, takes me to profound relaxation and contributes to always more subtlety and precision in my touch during the sessions with my clients."
She is the author of a workshop on improving self-expression called "Free, fresh and spontaneous" and a booklet on stress management in daily life, "Serene under pressure".
